Letter to the Legislature

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

Martin Luther King

This letter was delivered to the Vermont Legislature on January 18, 2018.

The letter has been signed by more than 300 individual medical and health professionals.

We continue to gather signatures. So, if you are a Vermont medical or

public health professional, please consider signing the letter.

You can do that by clicking here.

By signing the letter, you will add your voice to the call for change.

As the number of signers climbs, we can demonstrate to our legislators

that the concerns are growing in our community.

The letter has also been endorsed by the organizations listed below:

-- The Vermont Medical Society --

-- The Vermont Public Health Association --

-- The Vermont Veterinary Medical Association --

-- The Vermont Chapter of the American Lung Association --

-- The Center for Health and Learning --

As we've seen time and time again, legislators in Vermont listen when voters speak up.

That was reinforced during the testimony and conversations we were drawn into when

the letter was delivered.  We look forward to continue engaging in the

discussion with policy makers and policy advocates.
